Smallville 10.18 “Booster”

Posted by SOS Staff On March - 31 - 2011

The CW just released the following official description for the April 22nd episode of Smallville called "Booster":

DC COMICS CHARACTER BOOSTER GOLD ARRIVES FROM the FUTURE; The BLUE BEETLE IS BORN! — After everything that happened with the VRA, Lois (Erica Durance) tells Clark (Tom Welling) it’s best to make “Clark Kent” forgettable and awkward so people don’t suspect he’s The Blur. However, the two are stunned when a fame-hungry superhero from the future, Booster Gold (guest star Eric Martsolf, “Days of Our Lives”), sweeps into town and begins making saves and posing for press ops, completely winning over the city of Metropolis. Booster begins his campaign to take The Blur’s place as the “World’s Greatest Superhero” and tries to charm Lois into writing a story about him, but she’s not having his antics and begins her own campaign for The Blur. During one of Booster’s saves, an alien weapon in the form of a scarab falls from a truck and fuses itself to a boy named Jaime Reyes (guest star Jaren Brandt Bartlett), turning him into the Blue Beetle. Unfortunately, Jaime is unable to control the suit and Blue Beetle starts attacking Metropolis. Tom Welling directed the episode written by Geoff Johns

"Chris Nolan is doing and what I'm doing with Superman, what they'll do with Justice League will be its own thing with its own Batman and own Superman. We'll be over here with our movie and they'll kinda get to do it twice which is kinda cool."

Amy Adams on the “Powerful” Lois Lane

Posted by SOS Staff On March - 30 - 2011

While attending CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Amy Adams shared some of her thoughts on why she decided to play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Superman: Man Of Steel.

"I think the role of women in society constantly changes. And what I love about Lois Lane is that she’s been very consistently strong, successful, independent. I’m very attracted to that. It was a time when women were really — I don’t want to make some grand statement because I know it will come across as a grand statement — but [women were often limited by society then and] what I loved about her was that she was able to be smart and be feminine and I think that that’s something I know I’m going to teach my daughter, that you don’t have to be a man to be powerful. You can be a powerful woman."

On Casting Amy Adams As Lois Lane:

"Amy is really just an amazing talent. I think she grounds the part in a really amazing way, for me anyway. She's beautiful and she's smart. What we're trying to do with the project, she just really sort of embodies everything we're going for."

On Casting Henry Cavill As Superman:

"As you know, he was up for the role before. That was 8 years ago I think. And I think now, the thing's that awesome, the thing that i love about him is that he's a man. And I think it's been a while since we had a manly Superman. And also, he has this little bit of kindness which is important."

On Whether General Zod Will Be The Villain:

"I like that there's this whole process of elimination. I can't say exactly who it is. As you know, this is a secret project! I hope that when people do find out that they like it, because we think it's the right guy we're going after.

Starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Superman: The Man of Steel is expected to be released sometime during the Winter of 2012!

Rumor Alert: Justice League for 2013

Posted by SOS Staff On March - 29 - 2011

In their profile piece on Warner Bros. president Jeff Robinov, the LA Times has indicated that the WB is planning a Justice League of American film in 2013.

He's then aiming to release new "Batman" and "Superman" films in 2012 and "Justice League," a teaming of DC's top heroes, in 2013.

His most immediate hurdle is filling the void that will be left this summer when the multibillion-dollar "Harry Potter" series shepherded by Horn ends. Robinov is betting on DC Comics characters to take center stage starting in June with the $200-million-plus production "Green Lantern."

Is this a mistake by the LA Times writer? Or are Warner Bros. indeed preparing a JLA film for 2013?

I like that they're still talking about the idea of a JLA Movie but I personally won't get my hopes up. :(
