‘Superman: Doomsday’
How the first Superman Movie should have ended
|
I really liked this short because I think Superman got duped in the real movie (with the hidden kryptonite and all). Also I think they make a good point here..I mean if the guy can fly fast enough to turn back time he should have had no problem stopping both missles.

Superman/Seinfeld: Urban legend?
|
As a fan of both Superman and the TV sitcom, ‘Seinfeld’ I felt obligated to research this myth a little deeper. The urban legend that surfaced claims that: Superman is referenced in EVERY episode that aired from 1989 to 1998. Now of course there are the obvious references like the Superman magnet and instances when Superman is talked about between Jerry and George. But the theory out there is that there are more subtle references hidden that only Jerry Seinfeld can readily identify. |

|
So I started thinking about the show, the characters, and episodes I could remember off hand…then it hit me! This might sound far fetched and maybe a little crazy, but bare with me.. What if Jerry Seinfeld actually based the characters in the show after charcters from Superman comics!
Well, aside from that, A very detailed list of obvious Superman references in Seinfeld can be found at SupermanHomepage.com. Also there is a discussion thread about it here |

Supergirl to appear on ‘Smallville’ next season
![]() |
Supergirl is going to be a part of Season Seven of ‘Smallville’. Today, in an interview with iF Magazine, co-creator and executive producer Alfred Gough gives us a glimpse into what having Supergirl on the CW series will mean and that also includes the revelation of an appearance by the 1984 Supergirl herself – Helen Slater. Al Gough told iF Magazine, "Our plan is to have Helen on the show sometime this season, although when, how and who she would play are still up in the air." When asked about Bizarro, Gough was equally cagey: "You are just gonna have to wait and see about Bizarro like everybody else, but I’ll tell you one thing, he won’t be completely vanquished in the season opener like Zod was."

The Official CW press release: Look, up in the sky: it’s a bird, it’s a plane! It’s…Supergirl! This fall, Supergirl will be joining the lineup of burgeoning superheroes and villains in "Smallville." Supergirl is the latest DC Comics character to join the series that has previously welcomed Martian Manhunter, The Green Arrow, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and Brainiac. Casting for the Supergirl role is currently underway. "Smallville" airs on Thursdays at 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET on The CW. On "Smallville," the seventh season premiere kicks off with the arrival of Supergirl, whose name is Kara, as Clark’s (Tom Welling) 19-year-old cousin. She was born on Krypton and is the daughter of Zor-El, Jor-El’s brother. Kara possesses all of Clark’s powers and one he doesn’t yet have ?? she can fly! Kara also has a strong, rebellious streak that puts her at odds with Clark, and puts her onto Lex’s (Michael Rosenbaum) radar. In addition, she takes a romantic interest in Jimmy Olsen (Aaron Ashmore). "One of the joys of creating ‘Smallville’ has been our ability to reinvent and reinterpret classic DC Comics characters," said ‘Smallville’ executive producer Al Gough. "Miles and I believe that Supergirl will give our series the mythic jolt that it needs as we head into our seventh season." Read the full interview at iF Magazine. |
