How much would you pay for Action Comics #1??

Posted by SOS Staff On November - 29 - 2011

Bidding on the ultra-rare copy of "Action Comics No. 1" that first went up for auction on ComicConnect.com on November 11th has now exceeded one-million dollars. The issue, which was published in 1938 and cost just 10 cents, is in near-mint condition (graded a 9.0) and previously sold for $86,000 in 1992 and then $150,000 in 1997.

There are only 100 copies known in existence.

The lure behind the "graphic novel" is it was once owned by Nicholas Cage, but someone stole it from him in 2000.

Superman Sequel Rumors Buzzing About (..Swarming)

Posted by SOS Staff On November - 16 - 2011

"Warner Bros. are on the hunt for a screenwriter to pen the script for a sequel to Superman movie 'Man of Steel'.

The production company is already on the hunt for a screenwriter to pen the script for a follow up to the forthcoming movie, which is set to see Henry Cavill take on the role of Clark Kent/Superman, with Amy Adams as his primary love interest Lois Lane.

—-If you ask me about the whole thing..Well, lets just say a hatching chicken proverb is spinning in my head right now.  Let's face it, Rebooting Superman is an incredibly difficult task (Just ask Brian Singer about it).  We all want 'Man of Steel' to win at the box office, but no one knows for sure what we're going to get.  Let's all just hope 'Man of Steel' delivers and then we can talk merchandising, tv spots, and sequels.

Erica Durance IS Wonder Woman

Posted by SOS Staff On November - 16 - 2011

'Smallville' actress Erica Durance will guest star on'Harry's Law' as Wonder Woman … sort of.

According to TVLine, Durance will appear in a Season 2 episode of 'Harry's Law' as a "psychologically infirm" woman who thinks she's the DC Comics character. In her Wonder Woman persona, Durance's character seeks revenge on those who commit domestic abuse.

Durance will appear in the 11th episode of 'Harry's Law,' which does not have an airdate yet.

Audiences may recall NBC produced a pilot for a new Wonder Woman series from 'Harry's Law' creator David E. Kelley. The pilot never made it to series.

No word on whether Durance will don the iconic ensemble. (Keep your fingers crossed!)

Sources Say There’s a Good Superman Game On the Way

Posted by SOS Staff On November - 14 - 2011

Published by Chillingo and developed by Tiger Games, Superman comes out later this month and features 18 levels of 2D action with the Man of Steel. Players must race against the clock to stop criminals, punch villians out of the sky, and use heat vision and super-breath to protect Metropolis from invaders. Each level pits the superhero against a series of increasingly difficult threats.

Controlling Superman is as simple as directing him on the screen with the player's left hand and then selecting between speed and superpowers with the player's right hand. Depending on the situation, he will either run at hyperspeed on the round, fly in a high-speed blur, blow out a fire, or ram his fist into a baddie. The comic-esque animations have been described as fluid and responsive (but we'll see about that).

Superman for iPhone and iPad comes out later this month.
