THE LAST DAYS OF KRYPTON is the epic story of the politics and betrayals that blind both heroes and villains to the coming disaster and culminate in the escape of only a single infant child. While exploring on the planet Krypton with its famous cities and futuristic society, Anderson will also develop familiar characters with new depth. Superman’s parents’ epic love story will culminate in the decision to save their only child by sending him away. Brainiac, the Kyptonian genius who later returned to terrorize Superman, will struggle between good and evil. And, Superman’s long–time villain General Zod will lead an early uprising on Krypton. Justice League movie may have some familiar faces
|
To some fans, the Justice League is the pinnacle of the DC Comics franchise where the greatest comic-book legends unite in order to deliver justice wherever it is needed. But with the JLA making its way to the big screen, fans have been desperate to know if the project will have any connection to the pre-existing Batman and Superman franchises which are already hits at the box office. “Smallville’s” own Tom Welling is said to be donning a cape and tights to finally bring his take on Superman to the big screen. And joining him will be some flashy motion capture effects for the One-Man Army Corps cyborgs. “Yes that’s right, Tom Welling, TV’s Clark Kent, has been approached to take up the Superman role in the Justice League film,” the site said. “This has been a hope of ‘Smallville’ fans for years and all indications are that WB has finally heard the call.”

|
IESB.net has already contacted Welling’s agent in order to confirm the information but were immediately transferring to PR department of theatrical releases who refused to comment which has the site convinced of his involvement. Al Gough, executive producer for “Smallville” has flatly denied the story. If the reports are true, it may mean some juggling of his current schedule for “Smallville” when the movie goes into production in April. |

More Superman movie memorabilia!

Another real piece of movie history is waiting to be gobbled up. You can own Superman’s cape, as worn by Christopher Reeve in the original movie, but you might need to take out a second mortgage to do it!! It’s true, but it’s only available on eBay with a reserve price north of $80,000. You’ve only got until August 30th to place your bid on this one of a kind item. Well, maybe not one-of-a-kind. They probably had new capes for each movie. But would you really want the cape Chris Reeve wore in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace?? |

Superman: President Lex
|
Smoking Duck Productions, a low budget film company in Oakdale, Minnesota, is making a fan-film entitled "Superman: President Lex". We have just finished most of preproduction and screen tests along with call backs for "Superman: President Lex". I know this story has been worked into many other fan films before now, but we feel that ours represents more of a homage to the Norman Rockwell style that Richard Donner once portrayed in the late 70s. The film is not yet complete but a teaser trailer and training video are available for viewing on YouTube. |

Some familiar faces travelling to ‘Smallville’ next season
|
Dean Cain, who played the Man of Steel in ABC’s "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," has booked a guest shot on the CW’s "Smallville." He’ll play Dr. Curtis Knox, a villainous killer (and a possible meteor freak himself!).
Cain’s appearance is scheduled to air as the fourth episode of the show’s seventh season, which kicks off Sept. 27.
This isn’t the first time an ex-Superman has appeared on "Smallville." The late Christopher Reeve guested on the show during its second and third seasons, playing Dr. Virgil Swan
Also former Supergirl star Helen Slater has signed on to appear . Slater will play the aunt of the show’s recently cast Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort).
Slater will appear in the sixth episode of the upcoming season, two weeks after ex-Superman Dean Cain is scheduled to appear. |

Kevin Smith on the topic of ‘Superman Returns’
| When Kevin Smith Spoke at Akron University a while back he tore the movie ‘Superman Returns’ a new one. His commentary on the movie is hilarious! I especially enjoyed his perspective on the whole mysterious origins of young Jason Lane and the lack of action in the film. Not to mention Lex Luthor’s brilliant scheme to have everyone on the planet live on a giant rock of kryptonite. Man I love this guy! He’s a true fanboy! |
