DC ripping off Marvel Zombies? umm..why?
The Undead Man of Steel will be just one of many superpowered zombies appearing throughout the publisher’s line, as part of their big summer storyline, The Blackest Night; the identity of the zombie characters – or "Black Lanterns," as they’re going to be called in the comics themselves – was supposed to be kept secret, but DC themselves accidentally spoiled two reveals with their latest action figure solicitation to retailers, identifying both Superman and the recently-murdered Martian Manhunter as two future Black Lanterns. To comfort the Superman fans amongst you; it’s not "our" Superman who’ll be zombiefied; it’s the Superman of parallel Earth, Earth-2, who was revealed to have been missing in last year’s Justice Society of America Annual, written by Blackest Night writer Geoff Johns.

Get ready for some magic coming to Smallville! Pulled from an actual DC character (not a meteor freak!) comes Zatanna! TVGuide.com has since learned exclusively that Serinda Swan has landed the guest-star role |
.
Swan will appear in this season’s 17th episode, "Hex," as Zatanna, a magician who grants birthday girl Chloe a wish. Having been through the wringer ever since Brainiac mind-boinked her and Doomsday crashed her wedding day, Chloe expresses a desire to lead the comparatively mild-mannered life of Lois Lane. Voilà! Chloe magically inhabits Lois’ (and thus Erica Durance’s) body for the bulk of the hour. Clark is also granted a wish. But what could he possibly want for? Swan’s previous TV credits include appearances on Supernatural (as a hospital receptionist in "Salvation") as well as a July 2008 episode of Psych. I’ll say this for sure, she definitely has TWO BIG things in common with the original comic book character!! Yes thats right! Look at her eyes! They’re sparkling and beautiful just like Zatanna! |

Rokk (guest star Ryan Kennedy), Imra (guest star Alexz Johnson) and Garth (guest star Calum Worthy), also known as The Legion, step in from the future to help vanquish the Persuader and the group realizes Brainiac has taken over Chloe once again. Meanwhile, up at the Fortress, Chloe, as Brainiac, informs Davis he is Doomsday and was created to kill ‘the other Kryptonian’ and destroy the world."
