Posted by Jared On May - 27 - 2007
TVShowsonDVD.com reports that “Smallville: The Complete 6th Season” will be released on DVD as a 6-disc set on September 18th.
.

“They tried to be friends. But their chosen paths set them on a collision course. The Clark Kent-Lex Luthor rivalry explodes into the fierce good-versus-evil battle fans have long expected in Season 6 of the spectacular series that reinterprets the characters and events of Superman mythology from its roots.
Adding to the rivalry: Lana Lang becomes Mrs. Luthor. Clark would be stunned to find out why she says yes. But that’s not all that’s stunning. Green Arrow forms a Super Hero league. Will Clark join? Phantom Zone escapees menace Earth. Can Clark stop them? LuthorCorp expands its dark experiments. Will an awesome kryptonite-powered army be the result? The answers – and thrills – are here!”

All 22 episodes of the 6th season will be included in the box set, which is likely to retail for US$59.98 SRP. Its release date is supposedly scheduled to coincide with Season Seven’s premiere episode on The CW.
KryptonSite.com also adds that the box set is likely to include never-before-seen featurettes and deleted scenes, including the finalists for the Ultimate “Smallville” Fan contest, and a Green Arrow documentary. The Oliver Queen Chronicles “mobisodes” and “Justice & Doom” animated comic will most likely also be included.

‘Superman: Doomsday’ DVD release this Fall

Posted by Jared On May - 5 - 2007

Based on the best selling graphic novel of all time, Superman: Doomsday is going to be a straight-to-DVD release September 18, 2007. The epic story of "The Death of Superman" will now be adapted into a 70-minute animated movie. For the first time ever, for a Superman cartoon, it will have a rating of PG-13 and have a different look from the previous cartoons (Superman TAS and Justice League)

Here is the official description from Warner Brothers:

"In an epic tale of sacrifice, Superman battles an intergalactic serial killer in a superpowered Armageddon – "Superman: Doomsday". After Superman makes the ultimate sacrifice to save Metropolis by giving his life to defeat the foe, those who loved him the most mourn their fallen hero and friend. But a world without Superman proves to be short-lived when the Man of Steel mysteriously returns. Or does he?"

Sorry to the die-hard fans looking for an adaptation similiar in length and depth to the novelization. With the movie only being 70 minutes long expect alot of the story to be trimmed. Also sorry to those expecting the original voice cast from Superman TAS and Justice League. Superman/Clark Kent will now be voiced by Adam Baldwin, Anne Heche as Lois Lane, and James Marsters as Lex Luthor.

Fans can order their copies now at Amazon.com or visit the official WB site for the latest on the DVD release.
